Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 16, 2026
Eventful fills private rooms with specific people. That only works if the people we invite trust us with their details. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and how to make us stop.
1. Who we are
Eventful is operated by Sage VC LLC (“Eventful”, “we”, “us”), a United States company. This policy covers geteventful.com, its subdomains, and the events we plan and run.
Questions or requests: lal00020@umn.edu.
2. Who this covers
- Hosts. Companies that book an event with us.
- Guests. People we invite and people who attend. Guests never pay to attend.
- Visitors. Anyone browsing our website.
3. What we collect
What you give us
- Name, email, phone number, company, job title and LinkedIn profile.
- Booking details when you schedule a call: the time you pick and anything you write in the form.
- For guests: your answers to the registration questions on the event page (these are set by the host and are required to get a seat), RSVPs, dietary needs and allergies, and feedback after the event.
- A delivery address, if a host sends you a gift after the event and you give us one.
- Anything you send us by email, text or direct message.
What we find to invite you
When a host asks for a particular room, for example twelve marketing leaders in New York, we look for people who fit. We reach out by email, through our own network and community, and through ads on platforms like LinkedIn. To do that we use professional information that is publicly available or licensed from business data providers: name, role, company, city, work email and professional profiles. We use it only to decide whether to invite you and to send that invitation. If you would rather not hear from us, reply to any message or email us and we will suppress your details so you are not contacted again.
What we collect automatically
- Basic usage data: pages viewed, referring site, browser, device type and approximate location derived from IP address.
- Email engagement, such as whether an invitation was opened or a link was clicked.
Payments
Hosts pay us by invoice or bank transfer. Guests don’t pay us anything, so we never ask guests for payment details.
4. How we use it
- To build the room. Find and invite the right guests, confirm attendance and replace anyone who drops.
- To run the event. Book venues, pass dietary needs to the kitchen, plan seating, print seat cards, and send reminders, the venue address and day-of updates.
- To follow up. Share photos, request feedback, make introductions and deliver gifts a host has chosen to send.
- To run the business. Respond to enquiries, invoice hosts, report results to hosts and improve how we plan events.
- To tell you about future events. Including our newsletter. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time.
- To stay safe and legal. Prevent fraud, enforce our Terms and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use guest data to build advertising profiles.
5. Who we share it with
The host of your event
The point of the room is that the host meets you, and registering is how you tell them who you are. The host receives:
- Your registration. Every answer you give on the event page, including your name, role, company, LinkedIn profile and phone number. The host gets these whether or not you end up attending.
- A short profile before the event, so they know who they are meeting.
- A follow-up pack after the event: the attendee list with titles and companies, our notes on the conversation, and introductions to guests they want to reach again.
The host is then responsible for how they use that information. We do not give hosts your dietary or health details, except where the host is arranging the food.
Other guests
At most events every guest finds a printed page at their seat listing who else is at the table, what they do and why they were invited. That includes your name, role and company. Tell us before the event if you would rather not be listed.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to operate, including scheduling (Cal.com), hosting and analytics (Vercel), email and messaging tools, event registration platforms such as Luma, spreadsheets and CRM tools, the venues, caterers and photographers for your event, and gift and shipping vendors (each receives only what it needs, such as names, dietary needs or a delivery address). They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
Legal and business transfers
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply.
6. Text messages
If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive texts, we use it only for event logistics: confirmations, reminders, the venue address, schedule changes and day-of coordination. Message frequency varies by event. Message and data rates may apply.
- Agreeing to texts is never a condition of booking or attending.
- Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. You can also email us.
- No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information includes phone numbers, text opt-in data and consent records.
- We keep a record of when you opted in and out so we can respect your choice.
7. Photos at events
Some events have a photographer. Photos are shared with the host and attendees, and the host may post them. We may also use them on our website or social media to show the kind of rooms we run. We keep private venue addresses off public listings. If you don’t want to be photographed, tell the team on the night, or email us afterward and we will remove you from anything we’ve published.
8. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits without using cookies or tracking you across sites. The booking calendar is provided by Cal.com and may set its own cookies when you use it. We do not run advertising pixels on this website. We may run ads on LinkedIn or Meta to reach the kind of people a host wants; those platforms’ own privacy policies apply when you use them.
9. How long we keep it
- Guest and event records: for as long as needed to run the event, report to the host and plan future invitations, generally up to 24 months after your last event.
- Prospect data for people we have not yet invited: up to 12 months, unless we have reason to keep it.
- Host and billing records: for the length of the relationship and as long as tax and accounting rules require afterward.
- Opt-outs: we keep the minimum needed (such as your email or number) so we never contact you again.
10. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your information.
- Stop contacting you, by email, text or any other channel.
Email lal00020@umn.edu and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
Depending on where you live, such as California, other US states, the EU or the UK, you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Where those laws apply, we rely on your consent (for texts and marketing), on performing our contract with you, or on our legitimate interest in running and promoting curated events.
11. International transfers
We are based in the United States and run events in several countries. Your information may be stored and processed in the United States and wherever your event takes place. Where the law requires, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
12. Security
We limit access to people who need it to run your event, use reputable providers with strong security practices, and protect accounts with access controls. No system is perfect, and if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
13. Age
Our events are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Events serving alcohol are for guests of legal drinking age only.
14. Other websites
Our pages link to sites we don’t control, such as Luma, LinkedIn and X. Their privacy practices are their own.
15. Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell hosts and recent guests directly.
